Mid-Atlantic Solar & Storage Industries Association (MSSIA)

The Mid-Atlantic Solar & Storage Industries Association (MSSIA), formerly MSEIA, is the solar and storage trade and advocacy organization for New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. It represents businesses working on projects both behind and in front of the meter, and it is based in Bordentown, New Jersey.

Its work centers on state policy, with a standing policy committee, regular policy updates and member meetings, and office hours where members can talk through policy questions with a board member. It also hosts the Insight Conference, a regional industry summit; the 2027 edition is set for April 27 and 28.

How it gets used on a real project

For projects in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, MSSIA is where changes to state solar and storage programs get discussed early. Its conference agenda is a useful read on what regional developers are working through, with recent sessions on community solar, storage siting and permitting, and getting interconnection approval in New Jersey. If your pipeline is in these three states, its policy updates are worth following.

Worth naming plainly: MSSIA is a trade association, so its policy positions are advocacy. Read them as the industry’s case, not as neutral analysis.
