LevelTen PPA Price Index

The LevelTen PPA Price Index reports power purchase agreement pricing for North America and Europe, built from actual price offers moving through LevelTen’s marketplace rather than from a survey. It is published quarterly, broken out by technology and by region, and reported as percentiles: P10, P25, P50, P75, and P90. Alongside the numbers it carries commentary on the economic and regulatory factors moving prices.

Executive summaries and report previews are free to download. The full quarterly reports require an annual subscription.

How it gets used on a real project

PPA price is the single hardest number to benchmark in origination, because executed contracts are confidential and nobody volunteers what they signed. This index is the closest thing to a public mark. The percentile presentation is the part to pay attention to: a P25 offer and a P75 offer are both real prices, and knowing where your deal sits in that spread tells you whether you are competitive or leaving money behind.

Two caveats worth holding. These are offer prices, not executed prices, and they reflect the projects on one marketplace rather than the entire market. Use the index for direction and range, not as a settled clearing price.
